Long Island Ice Cream Guide: Cool Spots to Visit This June | Howard Hanna Coach Realtors

Smooth, sweet, and available in almost any flavor you can think of, it's no wonder ice cream is New York's quintessential summertime treat. There are ice cream shops all over Long Island, too, making it easy for you to grab a cup or cone while you're out on the town. Our REALTORS® do so often!

Want to try some of the best scoops this community has to offer? Visit these five Long Island restaurants and ice cream parlors and get ready to dig in.

  • Ice Cream Social - 1153 Jericho Turnpike, Commack, NY 11725
Ice Cream Social is an independent ice cream shop near our Commack homes for sale that serves a whopping 64 flavors of handcrafted ice cream, all made with real cream and other quality ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for playful flavors like Bubblegum and Fruity Pebbles or sophisticated ones like Toasted Almond, you're sure to find a scoop you'll love. They offer two rotating flavors of frozen yogurt, as well as a few vegan and sugar-free options, so even those on a restricted diet can enjoy some of their frozen treats.

  • Chip City Cookies - 1948 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, NY 11731
Chip City Cookies is a bakery first and foremost, but they also sell ice cream by the scoop at the location near our East Northport homes for sale. All four flavors are made fresh in-house, including a dairy-free Cookies N Cream variety made with cashew milk. Our real estate agents can't get enough of their Brookie flavor, a special blend of brown sugar and vanilla ice cream mixed with chunks of house-made brownies and cookie dough.

  • Krispy Mango Cafe and Bakeshop - 21 Wall St., Huntington, NY 11743
If you've been dying to try rolled ice cream after seeing it on social media, you're in luck. Krispy Mango Cafe and Bakeshop serves beautiful rolled ice cream and frozen yogurt cups made fresh to order every time. Many of their flavors incorporate pieces of their signature baked goods, making them delightfully rich and toothsome. They don't post their current flavor list online, so you'll have to visit them in person near our Huntington homes for sale to see what they're serving each day.

  • The Caffè on Park - 19 N. Park Ave., Rockville Centre, NY 11570
The Caffè on Park near our Rockville Centre homes for sale makes over 50 flavors of homemade gelato for customers to enjoy, including a few dairy-free, sugar-free, and vegan flavor options. You can order your frozen treat in cups or cones, in a milkshake or soda float, as a sundae, or even on top of a warm Belgian waffle. Our team has a soft spot for the nocciola gelato, a boldly nutty creation that lets the rich flavors of hazelnuts shine through.

  • Sweet Treats on the Wharf - 405 Main St., Port Washington, NY 11050
As you might expect, Sweet Treats on the Wharf is located just steps away from Inspiration Wharf on the shores of Manhasset Bay. They're best known for using a French Pot gelato machine, a device that churns the ice cream more slowly than a standard mixer. This process creates a deliciously dense and rich treat that's unlike any other ice cream you'll find near our Port Washington homes for sale. We particularly recommend the Black Raspberry Chunk—its dark, tangy flavors pair perfectly with the smooth creaminess of the treat.

Long Island's many ice cream shops, bakeries, and confectioners are always dreaming up new goodies for locals to try. Contact us today to learn more about our current crop of Nassau County homes for sale and Suffolk County homes for sale
