School #6 has been a wonderful experience for my son and our family. My son has grown so much this year, academically and socially. The staff is excellent; they are caring, nurturing but structured. Their teaching philosophy supports each child's learning style and ability. They plan many educational and fun events for the children. I advise all parents of pre-schoolers and Kindergarteners to join the PTA and get involved! We are looking forward to another year there with our daughter!

Honestly non biassed, This is the BEST SCHOOL even in Oceanside district. We have the most amazing staff & Dr.Sirus is amazing. She's always there if you need an ear and knows almost all the childrens names. She's involved with day to day activities which is a wonderful thing too. Both of my kids go to OHS. The principal is very involved, and we have a great PTA. While I work full time, I am very involved in the school and can appreciate the efforts that go into the every day activities.

I'm a former school 5 student who left in 2002. I absolutely adored my principal (Mr. Kriss) and found all my teachers to be incredible. They all seemed capable of tailoring activities to the capabilities of the students and never permitted students to be excluded or neglected. I always had individual attention from my teachers and they were quick to recognize my strengths and give me additional ideas for how to develop skills outside of the classroom. While it may seem irrelevant to some, the school's capability to handle the 9/11 attacks and attempt to have such young children understand them in retrospect amazes me. The level of respect shown (all while remaining age appropriate and unbiased) was beyond what I could have expected. It might seem strange that that situation in particular stood out to me but to me it shows just how capable the school is of understanding its students.

My son has started at the OMS a month ago, and so far, the experience has been extremely positive. While the academic level is certianly a huge step above the 6th grade, he is enjoying the challenges. The teachers are very supportive and it looks like they are oding their best to teach the subject in the most interesting way. I have also asked him about bullying, and he is the type of kid who could get easily picked at-skinny, glasses, kind, but he tells me that there is nothing going on and he is very honest with me. We still talk about how to recognize and deal with bullying, but the school has a formal policy and each teacher also enforces peaceful and cooperative environment in the clasroom. The big plus are the late after school buses which allow kids to stay for clubs, atheltics and extra help.
