I feel the school is excellent. My children have attended starting with the nursery. My children have excellent grades. The new school head only cares about the children that attend. The school starts at the nursery level and goes on through 8th grade. You need to check it out yourself. The teachers are wonderful.

This school offers a phenomenal education, small classroom sizes, and loving, caring teachers. I am an educator, so I am very particular when it comes to my children's education. Before my son first attended Heritage, I visited every legitimate pre-school in the area, and none met my expectations, that is, until I sat down with Mrs. Williams, the principal. Now, both of my children attend this school: prek-3, and 1st grade, and they love going to school. My son was taught script when he was in Kindergarten, and my daughter who is 3 is learning letters, letter sounds, and beginning writing skills. There just isn't enough that I can say about this school. We are relocating, and this school, and it's high quality, christian-centered education is the ONLY thing I will miss about NY.

I am very impressed by this school. I just moved into the district this year. I just had my first parent teacher conference and I was totally impressed. The teachers were so intuned to my child. They seemed to know her personality. They know her strengths and weaknesses. They did not treat my child like a number. The teachers all are willing to help her through her transition into the new district. The school also has so many clubs and activities. They are also starting to try to prepare her for college already in the 7th grade. Excellent school.

Our experience at this school exceeded our expectations. The teachers take great care to individualize programs for the students. The reading program was superb and I would reccomend it to all elementary children. I did find some apathy amongst parents at this school, but it could be a result of such a diverse socioeconomic grouping in this area. We had a great overall experience and think that anyone considering private school over this school, is doing a grave injustice to their children.

My oldest daughter just completed Kindergarten at Fifth Avenue. From the staff and students to the parents and programs, Fifth Avenue exudes such warmth and encouragement. Mr. Fallon can't be thanked enough for establishing such a wonderful school and for allowing parents like myself to be part of it all. My daughter's first year at this school is everything we had hoped for and more.

My children are in kinder and scond grades at Mary G. Their programs are amazing! the kids have physical education daily! my second grader has music twice a week (which he LOVES) and art once a week for 50min and they do amazing projects. Everyone in the school from front office to cafeteria staff are kind people and you know and feel that they have the childrens best intrest at heart!!!!

Here is the reason that I moved to this district! The teachers as well as the principal truely care about the students, in every regard. Academically, socially, physically, etc... You would be hard pressed to find a better school!

I am happy with St. Pat's. It does have a rich history in the Bayshore community and the values of the parents and teachers are apparent. The principal does the best she can to keep it affordable and the fundraisers are a joy, different shows, plays where the kids are involved. The focus on religion and values is a super plus. There appears to be a great deal of hearts in the right places. That Aug. 2, 2010 post is far from the truth.

l think is a great school. now my son is attending the Third grade with Mrs Martiny,who is a great teacher. The stafsf are given the best of them.

Southwest Elementary School in Bayshore is home to my Kindergartener. I find it a good environment for my son. The class size is 15 and the teacher is knowleageable of the activities it takes to interest the students. Children wear uniforms to school, which gives them a sense of uniformity and everyone seems to be involved in school activities. Music, art, and social studies are also covered, remember this is only kindergarten and script is already introduced as a major writing skill. Physical education is by far my son's favorite subject -- because he can play and pretend with his friends like he did in the carefreee days of pre-school. all in all -- Southwest is an 8 on my scale of 1-10.

My 3 kids have been in the Brentwood School District since kindergarten...and its been great! Of course, like any other school district, there are occasional problems, but the staff are always on top of it. The learning environment is very good, all 3 of my kids are excelling here. Yes, gangs are a little bit of a problem here, but no school district is without problems. I wish people wouldnt judge out school district by a few bad news reports. Our teachers are the most caring and involved teachers...my kids like to go back and visit their previous teachers year after year. The test scores are getting better and better each year, and a very high percentage of our graduates go on to college, and many come back to Brentwood to work and live after college, many even teach in the Brentwood School District!
