The first principal of this school has done wonders on the Bushwick Campus and the Bushwick community as a whole. After seeing the Bushwick School for Social Justice solidify it's status as an A grade high school, it is no surprise to see Mr. Terry C. Byam become a Network Leader at the Department of Education. He will put his experience, skills and heart into making even more schools in the New York City area achieve A grade rating.

I am commenting on the review form the parent posting on June 21. I am the principal of St. Brigid and I feel that we are responsible as a school to notify parents in advance that their child is not meeting standards. At the March report card, if the child continues ot struggle this is a sign they may not be meeting the requiremnts for the next grade. We offer a summer program here but in no way is it mandatory and many of our children take summer classes eslewehere even free at the local public school. So in no way are we putting money first. This parent was with us only one year, and he is not up to speed in math. It is sad that she wrote this about our school because of her frustration. We beieve in havign al our students be successful and work very hard to supply them with the skills necessary for high shcool and college.

My child has been attending this school since Kindergarten and I must say that the open communication and involvement with parents and students is amazing. The staff keep an open communication with the parents concerns and they find ways to help the community around them in understanding what is being taught in the school.

I.S.383 Is a great school. I am now in the 8th grade getting ready to graduate in 2009!! I like my school because the teachers in the school help me achieve higher and higher to the next level!!Cant wait till I graduate!!! 09 here I come!

this school is great my child has improved so much in her math amd the lunch room food is like red lobster its really good and healthy and the teachers are so nice

I am a former student of ps 86 k i love it there i go and visit all the time .The teachers there take very good care of the children of bushwick.My two brothers and i all graduated on or above grade level.i thank former principle Mr.burns also current princible Mrs Sarduay

My daughter is enrolled in Kindergarten and when we had our first parent orientation we were promised that by January our children would be reading and writing. I am peased to say that because of the hard work of the school staff my child was reading and writing and comprehending well before January. The school is very close knit and the faculty always includes the parents in all school activities. The best choice I ever made was sending my daughter to PS 116.

This is my first year teaching at this school and I am proud and happy to come to work everyday! It is a pleasure to see students who actually really want to learn! This has been a great year for me thus far.

i personalty go to this school, and i will graduate in 2012. i have to say that the school is fairly new, and the teachers are so willing to help anybody out. the relationships that have had throughout my 4 years here have been great. i have to admit thought that the campus itself did not have a good relationship and i was scared in the beginning as every freshman is when they come into a new environment but after a few weeks i have to say that i enjoyed my years in this school i recommend it. in fact i am going to graduate with an advanced regents diploma.
