if i could give this school a million and one stars i would. this school is a very secluded and quiet school. it isnt the over populated typical high school where kids are cutting and smoking in the rest rooms this school actually has security and staff who make sure that your child is doing what it is suppose to. also if your child is failing they never ignore it. this school has multiple afterschool, night school and even saturday programs year round where your child can come in and get more help on what they are struggling on. this school is just like a big family everyone is always helping and looking out for each others best interest. the staff is also very helpful and friendly. if your child loves art and wants to go to a smaller school this is DEFINITELY the best choice. if i could go for another year i would. :) my brother is also very in love with this school and it is only his first year

Great school! Learning is top priority at St. Raymond Academy and so is respect and getting along. The teachers are wonderful and the principal is very strong. The kids really learn here. 100% of the seniors graduate and end up with NYS Regents diplomas. Many earn scholarships to college.. There are advanced placement courses and the girls do well on these tests, too. You won't regret going there. It's not too late to sign up for next September. It's a beautiful school, too.

Wow let me first start by saying that "WE ROCK" yes B.C.S.E is an excellent school. I'm so thankful that my daughter got selected at the lottery, I mean i really did win the lottery. My daughter is getting a great education, the curriculum is great the staff from the teachers to the principal is phenomenal. The PA team is so dedicated and always trying their best to get parents involve, They are wonderful :D! My daughter got accepted to 6 top charter schools- Icahn 2,3,4 and 5, Harlem Success Academy 1 and Bronx Charter School for excellence and I definitely made the right choice by choosing Bronx Charter School For Excellence. My daughter is currently in kindergarten and is doing great ( academics). This schools has really been a blessing to our family.

i have my son in St. Helenas after removing him from a charter school and since he has been attending he has improved in all areas including his behavior, academically and socially. My wife and I love the school, the teachers and the staff. A gem in the Bronx!

This school has been a blessing to me. Even through it's a little expensive but it's worth every penny. That's why when there are fund raises I will participate with no doubt. My first child has graduated and now I have another child in the school. This is a home away from home. Most of the parents are very friendly and helpful. I give this school a overall 10 in my book. They have a very good computer program, when my daughter reach the 5th grade she was already knowing how to do power point. When she reached high school about 1/2 of classes did not know about power point and excel. This school is wonderful and I would recommend it.

I am very happy with the change of school for my daughter. She went to St. Helena from 2003 to 2009 and we saw that if she stayed in this school was not going to see progress as there are no activities to encourage students to improve now in Santa Maria are very pleased with the school since it has music activities, art, computers and much more which helps the development of students

The Best School in the world. Mr. James is excellent, mrs. Mcguiness is strong but excellent too, Mrs. Adu is the best, Mrs. Christian science teacher my daugther said great teacher. Mrs. C, Mrs. Horvant, Mrs. Harmont, is excellent teachers too.

My son graduated 2 yrs ago and my daughter just graduated valedictorian. With the preparation that my daughter received, she was accepted to 2 boarding, private Better Chance schools which top, strong academic students are selected nationwide. Not many public schools can prepare students for something like that. However, I wish the school went K-12 b/c PS 83 is an excellent school. Leadership is very tight, parent coordinator and PA is very involved and most teachers are great and they have a ton of activities not only for students but for parents equally. They have events whether it's dances for students, trips, workshops, fun (movie and games) family nights and dances for parents as well as fund raisers, the school is fenominal all around. This school work like a family and they do everything possible to reach out to parents for involvement. EXCELLENT school.

All three of my children have attended this school, two under the supervision of the new principal Mr. Sherman. He has really turned the school around. It's definitely a better place in every area. Some of the better teachers are Mr. Fal, Ms. Hughes, and Ms. Seabrooks. If your kids wind up getting them, they're very lucky.
