I have a child in elementary school and another a senior in High School. The teachers care about whether the children are learning. The school offers extra help for the struggling student and AP classes for the gifted student. At Parent-Teacher conferences I feel that the teacher really takes the time to know the student. AP teachers offer extra help after school. Parents, Principle and AP as well as the PTA are involved and visable.

This is a GREAT school! Yes, there is the occasional bad teacher that somehow made tenure despite their lack of teaching abilities, but there are so many other teachers that are so intelligent and invested in their students. Until a few years ago, when a new long awaited contract was signed, dozens of teachers worked countless unpaid hours before and after school hours to give their students any extra help they needed/wanted. Seaford has one of the best programs for disabled students and a variety of AP and college level courses for gifted students. Best of all, Seaford students, parents, teachers, faculty, and the general community have so much PRIDE! Even if their teams are on a losing streak, you can always find dedicated supporters cheering their athletes or club members (model congress, mathletes, drama, band, chorus, key club, etc.) on! For a small district, Seaford has a lot to offer!

Public School teachers rock! The teachers at this school gave me a priceless education. I came to this school from a Dunce Duncan private school, with terrible study habits and no intellectual curiosity, and learned to learn here. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Public school teachers are the best.

This school was a breath of fresh air! Although at the top of my class in private elementary school, I had never read a book for pleasure. I was years behind public school students. A new friend at Seaford High introduced me to Gabriel Garcia Marquez s 'One Hundred Years of Solitude', and I was hooked. Students and teachers at this school discussed literature constantly. (The discussion topics at private school were sex and money.) Seaford High was a great school with brilliant teachers and brilliant, open minded, inquisitive students.

My son, with learning disabilities, graduated from Seaford H.S. in 2000. It was the best school experience I could have imagined. They are 1 of 5 in NYS with the Federal mandated inclusion program. The general student population is very caring and involved in all school activities. The administration was very professional and caring. I worked on several service projects for the Middle School and HS and we still have so many friends from that school though we do live in another district. Thank You, Seaford.

I am a junior in the seaford high school. It is a great place and I am lucky to go here. Your kids feel safe and secure but they are not treated like babies either.

I would not classify this as a strong high school. There doesn't seem to be enough to offer advanced children, nor are they effective in dealing with kids with slight learning disabilities. If your child is 'middle of the pack' then they will do well at this school; however, this is not the school for exceptional children or those with special needs. The teachers are fine, although they are not overly impressive by any means, and there doesn't seem to be any 'state of the art' technologies at this school. Also, the athletic programs are not, nor have they ever been, particularly successful so if your child is an exceptional athlete, this may not be the appropriate school for him or her.
