My son has attended the Seaford Harbor school since kindergarten and is now entering 3rd grade this September. I thought this site was to rate the Seaford Harbor school, not Seaford in general. Fact is every town has its share of people who engage in "cliques" and who centralize their lives around their kids sports programs. Seaford is no different. Many of the school's PTA members find common bonds with one another. Finding people to be friendly with is as easy when you share the common willingness to be as much of a help/volunteer for the school as possible. That notwithstanding, the Seaford Harbor School is an awesome place for kids to learn, make friends and become helpful and productive community members. The teachers (especially multi-age teachers) are incredibly personable and keep in contact with the parents on a regular basis by phone, email, etc. I can't think of any better place I'd like to see my son grow up.

The Harbor School has been a wonderful place for my family. We have made so many memories and have done many great things together! The new playground is awesome! The PTA does so much for the school and the community, is constantly asking for input and trying to get parents involved. The Multi-Age program is the best! We have so many great teachers who truly care about the kids and their families. This is our last year as part of the Harbor family and we're so sad to see this era come to an end. The Harbor school has been a safe and nurturing place for my kids to grow up in. It's nice to know so many people from the community as we enter into the Middle & High School years where communications aren't as great. My advice: Get involved! There are so many ways! Be a part of your kids' day!

I have 3 children in the seaford school district. Two of which are still attending the harbor school. This school is a wonderful envirorment for my kids. The teachers truly care about their students. The parent envolvement is above and beyond. I wouldn't want to send my kids to any other school.

It is sad to see that one can't find comfort and friendship living in''Seaford'. It is a great small town, great people, great schools. My child is a football player and is involved in many other activities as well. My child is also an acedemic achiever too, he does well in school and is challenged at home to encourage his interests. I agree that bullying is a GLOBAL issue. Bullies are made at home, the behavior is allowed. As parents we need to teach our children how to behave and how to treat others.I never feel the need to keep up with anyone but myself and the goals that our family sets for ourselves. So sad that this perfect family doesn't fit in, in not so perfect Seaford. There are plenty of neighboring PERFECT towns that have room for yet another PERFECT family.

I agree with the current post in April 2007 from a parent with a child who deals with Seaford Harbor bullying and not being a great school. I feel the teachers are good but my child is going to be attending a private school starting in September of 2007 due to bullying and kids not being nice and also rude with names and attitude. Parents are very clicky. I am so dissapointed with the Seaford Harbor children as well as the parents.

The teachers are not at all involved with the students. Alot of bullying, they don't have no tolerance policy from the principal. My daughters self esteem has been shot down. She was an honor student in her old school. something has to be done.

Great school. Great family oriented school. All schools in this seaford area are wonderful. So glad we are here.

My entire Executive Committee and myself make every effort to ensure everyone's comfort at our PTA meeting. All are welcome and all are asked to express their opinions. If you are one who does not like to speak publicly, we offer a suggestion box in the back of our meetings. Here you are able to speak anonymously, if you so desire. As far as clicky, you will find 'groups' everywhere you go. Find your right niche and guess what, you are a clique as well. It's sad but true. We truly do make every effort to be sure everyone is included. I take great pride in having very open and laid back meetings. Remember, the PTA is a great arm to be used between parent and school.

I am a very involved Seaford Harbor parent. The Seaford Harbor School is a wonderful place. The teachers my children have had have been outstanding. The PTA is probably one of the best around. There are many involved parents and so many activities for the children to participate in. I have to disagree with the review stating that the school revolves around Bronco Football and Cheerleading. The Bronco Organization is well run and many families take part. Many children are involved in other activities as well. Unfortunately, I do agree on the issue of bullying. It is extreme and I think many parents are in denial. I think that most of the bulling starts in Middle School. I do not think the district really has an effective policy in place to deal with the problems. But I am not sure it is any better in neighboring

Don't be fooled by the 'reviews' below. This school revolves around their Bronco Football players and cheerleaders...the academic achievers are tossed aside. The bullying in the district is horrible and it stems from the parents. They are all cliques and don't care if their own children are causing distress to other students. It lacks discipline, focus, caring, and unity. I compare living in Seaford to a Stephen King novel...everyone seems so nice and sweet at first, and then they all turn on you...especially if you are the type of person who hates the 'keeping up with the Jones'' There are 2 types of people who live in this town, wealthy people who pretend they are poor, and the wanna be rich who don't really have the money to back it up. Look at Wantagh or Massapequa before this over-rated, crappy town!
