NHP Memorial is a great school community with dynamics that foster the foundations of a strong education. It is the perfect school for students to mature through during their teenage years. As a 7-12 school, it allows for a unique age set up that give the younger students admirable role models. Also, the 6 years together makes for strong friendships, grade camaraderie, and school spirit. The school has numerous activities to become involved in. Further, as for the young teachers, I think they invigorate the school especially with innovate styles. The fact that there are a variety of different teachers adds to the learning experience. Even so, there are a variety of extra help programs & of course, tutoring from the upperclassmen (another advantage of 7-12). Ultimately, the school & student have to work together & NHP certainly makes this possible; this is what I did & now attend an Ivy.

Good School. I think the teachers are great and the principal really enforces rules with the help of the security guards and the dean.

NHP is a very good school education wise for your children. I have 2 children that go there and there grades are very high. the principal doesnt seem to do her job as an enforcer well enough and she lets too many bad children get away with stuff. the only reason I didnt put a lower grade for saftey and discipline is because the school has a very strict dean and many security guards and 2 assistant principals that help pitch in. otherwise school is doing fine.

I am a former student and have two children that have graduated and 1 child in the 9th grade. I have always been happy with the education at NHP. The staff is caring and helpful and interested in my childs education. I have no complaints.

I went to school here and it's such a great school. The teachers really challenge you and I feel like I was well prepared for college. As for extracurricular activities, there are a lot! I was in the music program, and they could use more money...but they're great. Sports is definitely big in this school, and if you are involved you'll love it. The art program is good too, they have a few co-programs with some local colleges. There are huge number of clubs. The business prgm is such a great experience and really makes you stand out when applying for colleges. It's important to be well-rounded and being involved in a variety of programs really makes you stand out when applying. Colleges note that you can manage the college workload. It's known to be a great school by local colleges and they know that you''ll succeed.

I think that this is an excellent school. Of course, there is always room for improvement-especially with safety issues. Some students will always try to push the limits and it is getting more difficult for the teachers to discipline. I think that more parents should be involve in the school and their children's activities and studies. The music, art and sports programs are great!

This is a wonderful school full of programs and academic ventures. You would be dumb to give up a school like this great one.

NHP Memorial is a good school. There are some teachers that are not the best, but there are more that make up for these. Parents can get involved in their child's education by: 1-talking to guidance counselor and 2- attending PTA meetings. Both the head of guidance and the principal are at each monthly meeting. You can ask any questions you like and make your voice heard.

I am a former student, as was my husband, my 3 siblings and my husbands 5 siblings. My 4 children have all graduated from NHP Memorial. My youngest last year. Currently my 2 nephews attend. NHP Memorial has always been a wonderful school. Like anything you get out want you put into it. The alot of the teachers are young but they can relate to the students and become great role models. Special Ed dept. has been a great help to my family. They listen to your needs and aren't afraid to try new things. The school is safe.

This assessment is based on the past six years of experiences with two of my kids at NHP Memorial. Social Studies (including Model UN), English and Foreign Languages are the strong Academic areas. Math is decent while Music is on the decline. Discipline in school is OK but outside is not OK. Science focus is weak, which is disappointing. The combined Junior/Senior High schools grades forces students to be in the same building for six years, which saps enthusiasm after 4 yrs.

great school for a student that wants to excel, otherwise average.

I think that NHP lacks control over students. Although the dean is strict, security guards allow kids to smoke and leave school grounds all of the time. I also think that the schools hire inexperienced teachers who allow the kids to do whatever they please.

I have 2 children in this school. I have a few complaints such as the teachers do not know how to control some of the rowdy kids in the class and the only way the principal gets involved is if alot of parents complain to her. Otherwise my children are good students but have come into contact w/bad kids. And the only reason why they are lacking respect is because of their parents who don't have any.

Ok school, pretty bad teachers. Many academic programs however, they arent good either. They are very careless, 'try' to help students but they all think most students are smart and advanced so they dont bother enough. Very very low parent involvement. Depends on if you want to be involved, also. Only time you get to know whats happening is during report cards, or if your kid tells you.

overcrowded and poor music and art programs. more funding should go to those programs instead of sports.

I think NHP is a horrible school. We have to many young teachers, and half of my teachers that I have this year most of them just came out of college! I personally don't like the school, or the teachers.
