I recently graduated from Stimson and the school is wonderful! I was given many choices with clubs and sports. The classes were clean and had smartboards and new computers. The teachers were always there to help you and they treated me and my peers with respect! I would totally reccomend this school and this district. I sat on the SBM committee and one of the problems we talked about was gangs and how to protect my peers.

Stimson has a lot to offer whether it's through academics, sports or music. You have different venues of communication with the teachers from regular notes to e-mails and most are answered within hours. They are willing to assist the students even afterschool hours just as long as the students are interested in extra help. I know because my child has taken advantage of the extra help and it has assisted in maintaining the high grades. The guidance counselors are also helpful. Some classroom have recently been updated with the smart board which encourages the students to particpate. This tool seems to be as important as their textbooks which should be placed in every classroom. in my opinion. Other activities are offered after school from fencing to robotics and they openly compete with other schools. This is a good district.

Henry L. Stimson is a very progressive school that has great teachers and an excellent principal. Fears, anxieties and emotions that adolescents cope with at this age are overwhelming and the curriculum in Health helps brings these issues out in the open. The school also has several activities planned for October, the month of the young adolescent, one will be career day. These programs focused on the real needs of students have a positive effect on their growth and development.
