This is a wonderful school. I wish every school was like this one. My son went to this school in 1st grade and he learned so much, The teachers and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We moved to another state and I still cant find a school like this one. My son used to come home with a lot of school and it showed me that he was actually learning. Very great school, I highly recommend this school to all parents!

My daughter was in Countrywood until two years ago (when she moved up to Maplewood Intermediate) and my son is currently at Countrywood. Countrywood provides a wonderful environment for their students' first few years of school. The principal and all the administrative are so hands-on that they're known and loved by all the students. I am continually touched by how nurturing the environment is at Countrywood. Both my children have received an excellent education at Countrywood and have really excelled academically & socially.

The school certainly offers a quality education for a public school considering the conditions of the education system in New York State. However there seems to be a trend toward no tolerance for certain behaviors with boys. What most parents deem 'normal' administration and some teachers are too ready to classify a child as problematic. The philosophy for children what happened yesterday is old news today is a new day however, parents are not privy to the same. Once a male student engages in any type of 'behavior' parents are reminded constantly whether or not a similiar incident occurs. I have two children in the school , diffierent genders so I see first hand how my son is treated vastly different than my daughter. Unfortunate but a sad reality for some...

My son is is the dual language kindergarten. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn to read, write and speak two languages. The curriculum is challenging, but the teachers work together to help the children succeed. We are hope our younger child will also be in this program The administration is quick to respond to concerns.

My daughter just finished kindergarten. She is borderline SE (due to ADHD)they are doing great with her. She loves all the teachers. I cant believe all the work she brings home every week on fridays the teachers sends home a newsletter. They are adding more teachers for full time inclusion. They have full time kindergarten. Lots of activities that parents can be involved in.
