I have two children that attend this school and I could not ask for a better school for my chiildren. The teachers and administration are just wonderful. The teachers and administration know every child by name! The academics are great and I love that my children are learning more about their faith. It is a very nurturing environment. I would highly recommend this school..

Notre Dame School is a wonderful school. Its academic core is excellent. The teachers are highly qualified and professional. In addition, it is obvious that they love their profession and the children. There is an atmosphere of caring and respect, from Pre-K to eighth grade. As a catholic school, religion is one of the core subject. As parents of two children, we love that the cirriculum addresses the whole person, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. We love this school.

My daughter experienced two very bad catholic schools in Queens before we discovered Notre Dame School in New Hyde Park. I am so impressed with this school especially since I have two schools to compare Notre Dame to. My daughter is currently in the 8th grade and loves every minute of it. We cant say it enough how happy we are at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is a wonderful school--and yes, the focus is on faith--because that is why one chooses a Catholic education. Nobody is forced to believe anything--The teachers are great!

Notre Dame is a fantastic private catholic school. The children are respectful, the teachers are wonderful and the faculty as a whole are attentive, which makes our children's experience a very healthy and pleasurable start to their early education. Everything starts at home so religon is no exception. We send our three children to Notre Dame because we believe faith plays an important part in a person's life and want religion to be reinforced in school as it is at home. Otherwise, we would have sent our children to public school, as per the last parent whose quoted concern was about religonless 'Self-discovery'. It is simply a matter of preference and for some people, a monteray sacrifice. I would give up driving nice cars to continue sending my kids to Notre Dame. No one is forced to believe or do anything - the choice is yours.

It is is honor to have my child part of the Notre Dame community. We are a middle class family. It is by far worth the sacrafices we make to send her there. The school is really one big family. She is entering first grade and her teachers and friends have brought her beyond the expectations I had. We are truly blessed to be a part of a wonderful school.

Both of our children attend Notre Dame School. The school has been just wonderful with our children. The teachers are caring and the principal and vice principal are just a class act. There are not many schools where a principal knows every child by name and really truly cares. The children learn a lot and the discipline is second to no other. They learn about what is really important in life.

Transferring from the public school to Notre Dame was the best thing I've done for my child. The quality of the education is like 'night and day.' My child's understanding level of what is being taught is overwhelming as compared to previous years of just being taught to take State tests. There is also a genuine caring of teachers towards the children. Also, the parents are very involved in a wonderful and respectful way and they do not try to strong-arm the principal or teachers, they let them do their jobs!! Notre Dame offers a very professional and safe environment, which is what we were looking for!!

What and incredible experience this year has been for my daughter who is finishing up the first grade. So welcoming and warm are the prinicipal and vice principal who are generally out every morning greeting the children as they enter the school yard. The teachers are fantastic and the academic and extra curricular programs are impressive. This is the precise environment a child must grow up in, nurturing yet disciplined.

This school is a great choice if your child is an A type student with no academic problems. However, if your child has some academic problem areas and needs extra help or is really advanced, he or she will not be adequately served by this school. Basically, this school best serves the slightly above to above average student best. Any 'C' or lower student or outstanding/gifted student's particular needs will be largely ignored. The quality of academic programs is adequate for the kind of student described above, and the extracurricular activities are slightly above average. The level of parental involvement is good. The quality of the faculty is mixed, with some outstanding teachers as well as some wholly incompetent ones as well. You should take into consideration the tuition in determining if this school makes sense for you and your child.

Caring faculty and staff!

The price you pay to go to catholic school is not worth it the public schools get more funding and are able to pay the teachers better than catholic schools

this is a very good school for a bright child but if your child requires help and you live in the city the resources are not there. There is also alot of work involved homework and tests. talk to parents otherwise you'll spend your time studying and doing homework

This school is terrible. It forces children to believe in a religion at such a young age. Why don't they just let children follow a path to self-discovery? Let them figure out who they are.

As soon as you walk through the door you feel a sense of home. It is money well invested in my child's education. The life lessons that are learned could never take place in a public school where the children and parents run the school. Here at Notre Dame there is respect and honest caring for one another. It's a wonderful school. The best of the best.

Notre Dame is a wonderful school! The teachers are dedicated and the administration is knowledgeable and caring. The children are taught all aspects of the NYS curriculum--not just to take state tests!
