Academics   2014-01-01
English hands down has the best faculty. They're secret angels.

Academics   2013-10-01
School has a lot of AP & honors classes but doesnt force you to take them. If you're struggling there's so many different ways at school you can get help from

Academics   2013-08-01
The academics at this school are rigorous and challenging, but is also definitely manageable. Classes range from regular courses to honors courses to AP courses. Students are not discouraged from joining any kind of course.

The academics at this school are to prepare you fro college. I am a graduate and I am proud to say that I am more than prepared for any class. I have learned to do a research paper, have been in intense honor classes, and have taken AP classes. The academics i what the school is known for, they want women to have the best education possible. I am currently enroll in a prep class for college, and I feel prepared and ready to go!

Academics   2013-07-01

Educational Outcomes   2014-01-01
After choosing to go to NYU's College of Nursing i found myself to be completely prepared for the work load and balancing of time management thanks to Mary Louis. I feel as though choosing that high school was one of the best decisions i made. It helped me grow as a person and mature into the adult i am today. I am able to clearly rationalize situations and put others before myself. I also received a great academic education in my high school.

Educational Outcomes   2014-01-01
Excellent graduation rates to the best colleges with the best scholarships

Educational Outcomes   2013-08-01
My whole graduating class went to college. Mary Louis has a 100% college acceptance rate. Their goal is to get every girl into college. Majority of the girls I graduated with went or got accepted to prestigious colleges such as Yale, Harvard, and Georgetown. As I entered college it was a major adjustment because I was only 16 as a freshman. However Mary Louis prepared me academically for the adjustment. Writing a four-page paper in college seemed like a piece of cake because I've written a ten-page paper in Mary Louis. Also I was taught how to properly write papers and how to find research prior to me entering college. I personally feel like the "real world" begins after college. Since I haven+t graduated yet I cant speak based on experience about that topic. However I know that the skills I was taught in Mary Louis have prepared me for the real world. In high school I was taught interview skills, etiquette, proper oral communication skills, how to dress appropriately, and how to carry myself as a woman of dignity.

Overall Experience   2016-02-01
I didn't want to come there at first but they really changed my mind and I'm glad I went there. They really brightened my horizons

Overall Experience   2016-01-01
I would recommend the school to anyone. I love the all inclusive atmosphere, since it really does make a difference that we might not always realize. The school greatly prepares students for college regarding the college essay and research papers. I thought all high school taught how to construct a research paper, but many do not. I would pick this school again, since I became a well-rounded individual, and not just grew academically.

I love spirit week and getting involved with the festivities. The connections you make are genuine and lasting. There is something about the bonds that are created here that just last forever. The teachers care about your success.

Overall Experience   2015-09-01
The students are challenged academically. However they are given so much confidence that they can achieve it all. There is a great school spirit and everyone is treated with respect.

Overall Experience   2015-08-01
I never thought I would feel comfortable at an all girls high school, but coming to TMLA was the best choice I could have made. The faculty and students teach you so much, not only about the curriculum, but about life as well. Through all the good and bad times I've had there, the lessons I learned when I graduated 4 years later were irreplaceable. If I could do high school all over again, I would choose the same high school, because we are TMLA. Women of Dignity.

Overall Experience   2015-08-01
The Mary Louis Academy is phenomenal to say the least! I've learned so many valuable skills, and have gained so much knowledge throughout my years there. The faculty is amazing, and so supportive. The students are great. They are the type of girls you can, and will, easily form life long bonds with. Choosing to attend Mary Louis was the greatest decision I've ever made, and I am proud to call myself a Hilltopper!

I really love the school, i hadf some hard time in the beginning because of the language matter, however, all the classmates and teachers are super nice, and certainly helped me go through everything. I own a Big thank you to TMLA.

Overall Experience   2015-07-01
I never realized how great of an education TMLA provides until after I graduated.

TMLA has given me great sisters for life

Overall Experience   2015-06-01
This school is honestly one of a kind. It will really help you find yourself and definitely help you get into your dream college

Overall Experience   2015-04-01
This school is unlike any other school. This became my second home throughout my 4 years. This school is unique because it is an all girls school, and also because the community of students and teachers is like a family. My favorite experience was Spirit Day. In this day, everyone comes together for a huge pep rally which is indescribable.

Overall Experience   2014-01-01
The high school cares about each girl that goes there. They genuinely want to see us all succeed and be successful. I loved the amount of volunteer opportunities and the art program is incredible. They want to make us independent, responsible, educated and dignified women. They teach us to respect ourselves and others. I had a great experience at this warm and welcoming high school. It was truly my second home.

Overall Experience   2013-10-01
I absolutely love my school and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The friends, memories, amazing experiences, leadership opportunities, support from faculty, art program... it's all amazing and unique

Overall Experience   2013-08-01
I believe my school provided me with top of the notch education. Its faculty and entire atmosphere has challenged me to do things I initially would have thought were unthinkable and unattainable. My school has allowed me to grow in knowledge and at the same time, nurture the talents that I possess. It has also allowed me to be ready for the "real world".

Student Culture & Diversity   2013-07-01
The school is very open to every kind of person.

Teachers   2016-05-01
The teachers at the Mary Louis Academy really go above and beyond what they're required to do to ensure student success. they would wake up an hour earlier just to get to school to help you with anything you need if you asked of it.

Teachers   2016-02-01
Teachers at TMLA care so, so much for every student. They will always try their best to help and get to know each student individually in their classes. They're extremely qualified for the courses they teach.

Teachers   2016-02-01
The teachers there are pretty nice and easy to talk to about anything; personal or academically. They are always there to help

Teachers   2016-01-01
All the teachers at TMLA are extremely helpful and caring. They are there whenever a student is in need and do a lot to help us truly understand what we're learning so we may use it in the future.

Teachers   2015-12-01
To be honest, I believe that all of the teachers, with the exception of one, are amazing. They carefully guide the students through each lesson, are active tutors, and great moderators.

Teachers   2015-06-01
The teachers are engaging and personable. Most are willing to help.

Teachers   2015-04-01
The teachers here are very knowledgeable. They teach everything that they know and go above and beyond to make sure that the students understand the lesson.

Teachers   2014-12-01
The teachers put 110% effort and actually "do their homework" when it comes to being prepared and having lessons planned that are efficient enough to help the student learn. If a student is having a hard time learning something there is always a teacher willing to set time out of the day to help them. They are so friendly and understanding and a great faculty overall. They have great communication skills and it allows them to communicate the information accurately to the student who is willing to learn. They take pride when their students do well and appreciate them with respect. They are consistent in grading too.

Teachers   2014-12-01
The teachers take an avid interest in the students. They are always available either in class, out of class or email.

Teachers   2014-09-01
The teachers at The Mary Louis Academy are truly dedicated workers who share the same goal, to help each individual student work to the best of her ability. The staff is always willing to help students and never deny a student's request for aid. The teachers at TMLA have influenced me to become the best student I could ever be.

Teachers   2014-09-01
All teachers really take the time to plan out their schedules and put hard work into teaching the students.

Teachers   2014-01-01
I love everything about every single teacher in this school.

Teachers   2013-08-01
The teachers at this school are absolutely amazing and incredibly intelligent. They have taught me and many other fellow students concepts and many things that go beyond the classroom. Teaching styles are different among teachers, but the variety is easy to adjust to. They are always willing to help when a student, such as myself, may feel a little lost in the curriculum.

Teachers   2013-12-01
I have met so many great teachers who truly care about me and my academics while attending here. A lot of them encourage the best and volunteer so much in the school you can tell they really are dedicated.

Teachers   2013-12-01
The teachers are moderately diverse and help students whenever they can. Most of them give up their time to contribute to the students' learning and for the clubs.

Overall Experience   2013-12-01
Everybody is very inclusive but even so, you can still find your niche very easily. The academics are challenging but doable and there is always somebody there to help you.

Teachers   2014-01-01
Teachers make sure students understand and seek help if they need any

Teachers   2015-04-01
All of the teachers incorporate the use of technology into theor lessons. Most yeachers are verybfriendly and approachable and will help you if you need something such as a letter of recommendation. Most teachers will offer extrabhelp classes before and after school. Of they see you are struggling, teachers will do their best to help you.

Teachers   2015-04-01
Each classroom is equipped with its own smartboard accesible to both teacher and student. Teachers are willing to help before and after school and are even an e-mail away from helping their student

Teachers   2015-03-01
I got along great with my teachers, very clear on what id do wrong and would work to help me do better. We worked hard but could still laugh and joke with our teachers.

Teachers   2016-01-01
The teachers are often very helpful

Teachers   2016-01-01
The teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. However, some teachers can be confusing a times as the material progresses, especially in science classes.

Teachers   2016-04-01
Most teachers here are friendly and good teachers.

Teachers   2016-03-01
The teachers are wonderful here. They are very attentive and care about the students that go here.

Teachers   2016-03-01
Teachers always try to help any struggling student

Teachers   2016-03-01
The teachers at this school are great as far as the quality, knowledge, and communication skills. When it comes to consistency in grading, some teachers will return graded tests and homeworks the following day, but for others you may have to wait up to about 2 weeks for a simple grade. Overall its great, but the science department is by far the worst.

Student Culture & Diversity   2014-01-01
everyone knows each other and everyone is caring for all and understanding which is the most important

Student Culture & Diversity   2013-12-01
There are a lot of students from different countries and religions and even though this is a catholic school the different religions and values are accepted from all peers.

Teachers   2016-09-01
the teachers at The Mary Louis Academy are very straight forward and look ahead for our futures, keeping an eye out on the knowledge we lean and how we can adapt that in the outside world

Teachers   2016-09-01
The best teachers are located in the English Department, but all the around the teachers are mostly really good. They are personable and willing to extend their schedule if a student is having trouble with a topic. There are always opportunities for one on one with teachers. In class, the teachers know each student by name and try to have everybody participate.

Teachers   2016-07-01
The teachers at mary louis academy typically put a lot of work into their lessons and teaching. Most of them enjoy what they do and are great teachers.

Teachers   2016-06-01
Majority of the teachers know what they are teaching and providing their students knowledge on. However, there is a handful who confuse the students and don't connect with the students and what they are teaching.

Teachers   2016-05-01
Most of the teachers are very engaging and they care about their students, you never got the vibe that the teachers were there just because it was a job.

Teachers   2016-05-01
I believe that i would choose to experience education at this school all over again, the people ive met here, i will forever be grateful too, ive found myself and opened up more to new people. There is no experience like an all girls school

Student Culture & Diversity   2014-08-01
There is great diversity on campus.

Student Culture & Diversity   2014-05-01
The diversity is great and very accepted and tolerated.

Overall Experience   2014-01-01
It was a very excellent school. It prepares students for the real life of college, the academics. Students are far more prepared academically and also the school has great community skills. The environment is very close together, it is a wonderful school.

Overall Experience   2015-04-01
Ive always known I wanted to go to TMLA. Although a single gender environment might discourage some girls, it is definitely a place where you create lasting friendships and goals. Not worrying about how you look, or what a guy might think is actually a refreshing thought to some. TMLA shapes girls into women, and gives them the opportunity to express themselves inside and outside of the classroom. If I could do it all over, I would not choose a different high school to attend

Overall Experience   2014-08-01
I love the school and its atmosphere.

Overall Experience   2015-07-01
The teachers really get to know the students. There is always extra help if needed.

Overall Experience   2015-12-01
I loved math, Glee Club and the sense of community.

Overall Experience   2016-01-01
I really do have fun at TMLA. Some of my favorite events are TMLA Christmas, Spirit Night, and the Genesians Plays. We are an all-inclusive school and there are things for everyone and anyone to do. There is no where else I would have considered going.

Overall Experience   2016-05-01
In the end i would not choose to go anywhere else.

Overall Experience   2016-05-01
Overall if I could do it all over again I would choose this school. The school is superb on an academic level and the staff truly make you feel at home.

Overall Experience   2016-04-01
I am happy with my decision to go to TMLA. The school is a little strict if you are not used to catholic schools and of course you need to get used to the fact that there is no boys. Boy overall I liked most of the students here and I had a good high school experience. There is a lot of diversity in race, ethnicity, beliefs, and sexual orientation. There is even some diversity in religion even though it is a Catholic school. The academics are pretty good as well.

Academics   2014-01-01
strong academics and a lot of school work. Challenging but well worth it.

Educational Outcomes   2015-03-01
I find that high school was harder than college for the work load. technically i have more work in college but its spread out more so i have more time to do unlike high school. the current math class I'm in is moving slower than a class i took at TMLA

Overall Experience   2016-03-01
I think the academics at this school are great but some of the student's aren't as great

Overall Experience   2016-09-01
Evene if I had some problems with the school, I really loved going there, deep down

Overall Experience   2016-09-01
this school has provide me whit opportunities and knowledge that have guided me to choose the right path for my education

Overall Experience   2016-07-01
my experience at mary louis academy was great. I would go to this school again. This school feels like a family and it gives you the hard work and discipline needed to succeed.

Overall Experience   2016-06-01
The holiday seasons are the most exciting times at TMLA, especially winter and spring. I can honestly say that this school is always after your money, but they provide a great educational and student involvement system.

Academics   2013-12-01
The academics are very challenging especially in the AP and honors courses. Students are able to take classes for college credit as well.

Academics   2014-05-01
Many options for courses, especially for a small school. Honors and AP availability. Teachers want the best for their students.

Academics   2014-01-01
The AP girls get all of the attention. The kids taking regular courses barely get the help they need.

Educational Outcomes   2015-06-01
I have not experienced the real world yet. The college process was frustrating.

Overall Experience   2016-05-01
I excelled academically in this school and I had a good group of friends, high school is a learning experience within itself and I definitely learned a lot going to this school.

Overall Experience   2016-03-01
Its true when they say you'll meet your bridesmaids; some of the people you meet at this school are amazing. You become engaged and happy, but then randomly they will press you for more money. The tuition is ridiculously high and there are almost a thousand students; its ridiculous to always ask (actually its more like demand because they wont send your high school transcript to colleges if you dont give them money, ridiculous.) for more money.

Overall Experience   2016-03-01
I would continue going to this school if I had the chance. It's fun and entertaining. Meanwhile they are great teachers

Overall Experience   2016-01-01
Over all the school is great academically, and has multiple opportunities for students and after school activities. It can be stressful with some of the extra curricular activities because the teachers sometimes refuse to make exceptions.

Overall Experience   2015-11-01
I'm a junior and I honestly can say that some things at this school are nice, yes, but let me start with the bad news. Not all of the teachers are great, especially in the Science department. In my experience, my teachers freshman and sophomore year were terrible. The Math department can be good, depending on which teachers you get. Same with Social Studies and, in my case, Spanish. The English department is great all around. Those teachers are great and you will create a strong relationship with at least one of those teachers, I guarantee it. I'm indifferent towards the other departments. Another thing is that the school does not prioritize their funding. The school claims they do not have enough money for anything, yet they spend money on things we do not need, like changing the floors in the main buildings and building a garden that looks so out of place it's ridiculous. We don't have air conditioners unless it's a computer room. Uniform requirements are ridiculous as well. The school is freezing in some areas, yet we are not allowed to wear sweatshirts, even if they are issued from the school. Some people do not own uniform sweaters because they are itchy and do not provide any warmth, yet that is what we are required to wear. Also, we are required to wear stockings from October 1 to May 31. Because that makes a lot of sense. And our principle, Sister Kathleen, appears nice, but try respectively offering suggestions that you think the school needs, and consider yourself dead meat. I have so much more to say, but I think I've said enough. There are nice things about the school, like extra curriculars, but I do not think I can type any longer. If there is anything I have learned, it's how to write an argumentative essay, haha.

Overall Experience   2015-10-01
As a senior at The Mary Louis Academy, I experienced many different phases. The beginning of my freshman year I loved it. The new experiences of high school, the new friends, the new classes, everything. By March, I was extremely stressed and found myself stressing over an English assignment at 1 a.m. Sophomore year was a blur, but I know it wasn't great. It was more my age than the school but the course work didn't help. Junior year was the year that I had the most headaches. From having to choose colleges, going on college trips, taking the SAT, and maintaining a 4.2 GPA, it was a bit much. Now in my senior year, I'm applying to colleges and working hard. I'm used to the course work, but it can be difficult. Everyone is very supportive, but teachers won't give you an extra day for the test, just study between periods. TMLA was an amazing experience that has affected who I am entirely.

Overall Experience   2015-04-01
Even though it seems that otmis a very hard school, TMLA provides many opportunities to get students involved in myriads of activities such as participating in Service homeroom. My favorite thing about the school is the school spirit. It is evident that there is school spirit around Christmas when the whole school watches the senior Christmas play. It also can be seen in Spirit Week where the whole school celebrates its spirit. Mary Louis gave me an opportunity to make newffriends, challenge myself, and participate in many activities. For these reasons I would do it all again.

Overall Experience   2014-01-01
I wish I had a voice.

Overall Experience   2013-12-01
Highschool for me has been okay. It has had both positive and negatives but I know the opportunities in academics will help me in the long run. The academics are challenging especially in honors classes but the school does provide a safe environment. The majority of faculty is very caring and helpful.

Student Culture & Diversity   2014-01-01
Race determines the social scene. The Black girls are looked down on.

Teachers   2016-09-01
I really loved some of my teachers while going to TMLA but some of them were stuck up and had obvious favorites. Also some teachers understood their field, but didn't know how to teach it

Teachers   2015-03-01
Some care and some just want to get paid.

Teachers   2014-01-01
THere are no Black teachers. This is very discouraging.
